It's a Mk2 Del they took a massive step backwards in the user freindly dept and styling when they redesigned it  Quote
MrT Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 On my Mk2 I do not need any screwdrivers to remove the bulb, it is just remove the plastic waterproof cover at the back of the light, then unspring the wire clip holding the bulb in place and put it all back in the same order. Sidelight bulbs are more difficult having to go in through a sliding slot cover in the wheel arch, especially if you have big hands. Quote
davewill Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 Thanks for the advice guys I did the job by removing the whole headlight unit,(manuafactured a long star screwdriver myself) and then unclipping the back cover.Only took 10 mins per lightHowever upon reading other posts past and present, there seems to be a consensus, that it is easier to just unclip the back cover(Don't forget i've got a Mk2 TDI) Now i have done the Main Beam bulbs, i want to do the dipped beam headlights Who recommends which bulbs to use to get the "best possible light increase" (and legal) Thanks Quote
chromedome Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 HID's are brilliant, and my car has today passed it's MOT at the Ford Dealer. Do a search for them. Quote
